Outdoor Team Building Approach
After careful consultation our approach is to facilitate a time of “sharing, exploring, clarifying, re- defining and seeking to understand the common values that bring us together in an attitude of team delivery.”
Objectives could well include “simply creating a more satisfied and productive team” or learning better ways to communicate by building trust and rapport whilst seeking to understanding how different cultures, personality styles and risk taking are some of the elements associated with growing teamwork.
Outdoor Team Building Topics and Themes
We always set a clear team development expectation which is supported by a modular principle base lesson or new team skill learning experience to cement its outcome. Our experience also teaches us that at times only once a team has exited from its workplace environment of daily routine, industrial pressure and predefined corporate subcultures can we begin to unpack the old and explore the new! Hence the importance of selecting a venue most conducive to the team development task at hand ( Imagine a backdrop of big mountains and fresh country air, tranquil streams or a peaceful lake and natural forest environment in which to set the tone for personal and team growth). Within the correct outdoor settings and designed framework for growth we are able to introduce some of the tools of our trade (introspective questions, group discussions, team thinking challenges and team activity tasks that absolutely expose the teams to the ideas around growth, change and personal leadership).
Outdoor Team Building Activities
Team building activities /tools should always be designed with the end in mind and facilitated as a means to challenge, expose, teach and unite people bound by common cause reinforcing the absolute need to work as team!
Paintball Shootout:
Opposing teams, stealth, strategy, tactic, and leadership all form part of these specifically designed and fun filled games.
Giant Totem Pole:
After exploring a team Survival scenario the group is challenged with constructing and erecting a giant Totem pole within no mans land. Planning organising and performing within the rules and timeframes given becomes this tasks unique challenge.
Raft Building:
Design and build a raft to float your team around three points on the dam collecting the clues you will need to complete this fun filled task. (Colourfully decorated team rafts, flying flags and sporting war paint battle it out to complete in top position, points and prizes for best design and teamwork)
Micro light Flight:
Step out of your comfort zone as you enjoy the ultimate rush of leaving terra firma for a mind blowing flip over a local game reserve and rolling hills of KZN. (An awesome experience to shift individual & team paradigms)
Laduma World Cup:
Medals, top team trophies,vuvuzela`s team t-shirts, Country flags, penalty shootouts and coaching camps define this action packed Football event.. (A popular event for bigger teams)
Talking Drums:
Our master drum facilitators will assist you to experience the ultimate expression of team communication. (This entertaining and harmonious team building experience is often the high light activity of any team development initiative)
Beach – Olympics:
A series of creative and fun tasks played out on the shores of the Indian Ocean. (Mini survivor type activities guaranteed to get teams wet, while working together, loads of laughter and fun)
Quad Bike – Obstacles
Teams are tasked with completing a series of lateral thinking and fun tasks from the backs of fully automatic 4 wheelers.
Outdoor Eco Challenge
A mixture between hands on practical orienteering, communication and innovative synergy, designed to fast track a group to grasp the basic code of “teamwork”.
