Most South Africans dream of overseas ski-ing holidays or at least the thrill of experiencing a white Christmas once in their lives. Christmas for my sister and I growing up on the South Coast consisted of my Mom playing Frank Sinatra’s ” I am dreaming of a white Christmas, along with Rudolph the red nose reindeer , Frosty the snowman etc..” all these music LP’s coungering up images of snow ,sleigh bells ,eggnog and family holidays ( Our reality around Christmas was Humidity mozzies,cockroaches and yes we were fortunate to enjoy great family holiday times)

For us Durbanites snow is indeed a rare thing and certainly the furthest from our minds as we sweat it out thro Dec, January and March but wait .. if its snow you want to experience and a white Christmas is your dream then hang in there! June ,July or August even September will deliver at least one snow day a year!

We have a spot on a mountain 100kms from Durban which generally enjoys a good snow fall once every couple of years.( that’s only 100 kms from Durban) Check out the pics from last June ( 29june 08) If you are diligent (with leave form signed and warm clothes packed) watch the weather patterns/cold fronts forecast etc and you will have your snow day.

After all it might be all you need to do to show the photo’s and tick it off as another great & different experience,game set and match!

An afternoon of team fun as 120 team member from all 4 of Builders Express stores gathered to participate in our Corporate Odd ball Olympics event at the PBHS in Pinetown.

We served Lamb-burgers and salads for these hungry team players followed by a Colourful prize giving and social.
